VIDEO: Go behind the scenes on Jurassic World

Against all odds, Jurassic World has become a massive success - not only making it the biggest movie at the box office this year but the third biggest movie of all time. Provided you judge the merits of a film on how much cash it makes.

If you want to get a glimpse at the effort it takes to bring these terrrible lizards to the big screen, check out this behind the scenes video detailing the special effects and the work of director Colin Trevorrow.

It’s nice to see the use of some practical elements here, especially as a way to give the actors something to cue off.

But while we don’t want to disagree with SFX legend Denis Muren - who worked on everything from Star Wars and E.T. to Terminator 2 and A.I. - there was definitely far too much CG used in the final feature, and it didn’t make the film anywhere near as scary as Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic.
