Microsoft expected to announce Surface Pro 4 in October
There are rumours that Microsoft will host a standalone event in October. It’s thought that this event may coincide with Microsoft’s next update to Windows 10, or the opening of Microsoft’s flagship store in New York, which could be the location.
The main focus of this event, according to the report, will be two new Lumia handsets and the Surface Pro 4. There have been rumours circulating about the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, codenamed Cityman and Talkman, for some time now, so it seems like it’s only a matter of time.
These handsets are expected to be the first Lumia devices to ship with Windows 10.
Microsoft is also expected to announce the Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10 pre-installed. It’s said that because of Microsoft’s commitments that existing peripherals, like the Surface Dock, charger and covers, will be compatible with future Surface Pro models, there are unlikely to be drastic changes to the Surface Pro 4 externals.
Finally, it is also being reported that Microsoft will reveal the Band 2 at its event in October. Little is known about the wearable at this stage.
Microsoft has a conference lined up at IFA in September, but it has stated that it will not announce any new Surface products or any high-end Lumia devices. These will be held back until October.
