VIDEO: Epic trailer for The Martian with Matt Damon lands

The Martian is a movie about what happens when Matt Damon gets left behind on Mars. 

We’re not going to say any more because there’s an immense new trailer which explains it better than we ever could.

Well done Fox marketing folks, that is how you cut a trailer.

It’s got the humour, the action and Ridley Scott’s wonderful production design as well as getting across the best version of the movie in a three minute span.

Maybe it spoils a few things along the way but a promos go this is a wonderful example. There’s even some All Along the Watchtower for good measure!

And the film is sounding good too.

Based on the novel by Andy Weir it has some great source material to start off with and also has the advantage of a huge budget and an amazing cast including Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Michael Pena, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Donald Glover.

The Martian is in cinemas on September 30,2015.
