Duke Nukem finally has a home after a custody battle between Gearbox and 3D Realms. Gearbox has retained the rights to the franchise.

A joint statement from Gearbox, 3D Realms and Danish developer Interceptor revealed that the parties have settled the issue. It said that they have "resolved their differences", and that all litigation between them had ended.

3D Realms had sold Duke Nukem to Gearbox, who then finished development on Duke Nukem Forever and released the game. And yet they wanted to hold onto the rights…
