Satellite Reign launches next week - it's like Syndicate only better!

If you were of age in the 90s and had any kind of gaming machine with a mouse, Syndicate was where it was at. Btw this is what cut scenes used to look like.

The isometric strategy game was big and complex and violent and everything you could want when you were probably too young to be playing it. Then Syndicate Wars pretty much blew everyone away with ACTUAL 3D GRAPHICS! Remember this was the 90s, it was much easier to get excited then.

Well now more than 22 years after Bullfrog released the original game it's come back. Kind of. A team including some of the Sydicate creators as well as folks who worked on GTA, Darksiders and more came together to form 5 Lives Studios, and they embarked on a massive project to revive the spirit of Syndicate with an all-new title. And after a massive Kickstarter, Early Access and many years of development, Satellite Reign is almost here.

Observe the launch trailer.

Graphics have come along quite a bit in the intervening years. The new game is a real-time RTS based on a team made up of different classes. Across a massive open living, breathing futuristic city you'll use the distinct abilities of the foursome to play as you like in emerging battles and engagements. You can choose to go into full on war or get super-stealthy - or a combination of the two. The hope is that the open world and wide ability base will make for massive variations in playstyles.

The world looks amazing and early reports from the backer and beta versions of the game have been positive. And the best news is that it's finally almost available to play in its final version - more than two years after it arrived on Kickstarter.

Satellite Reign is coming to PC, Mac and Linux on the 28th of August 2015. More info here.

And can we just pause for a moment to remember how cool the intro for Syndicate Wars was... 1996 people!
