Big Hero 6's Baymax will be a baddie in Kingdom Hearts III

Baymax, the adorable inflatable healthcare provider from Big Hero 6, will be one of the bad guys in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III game. Or one of him will be at, least. If you haven’t seen the film you should rectify that before reading on.

Kingdom Hearts III is set after the events of Big Hero 6. That means that Hiro has created a Baymax of his own, but there’s also one floating around within a portal.

The antagonist “uses the powers of darkness to manipulate the Baymax body that was left behind in the portal. As such, the old Baymax body left behind becomes a dark, heartless Baymax.”

Baymax isn’t the only Big Hero 6 element that will make an appearance. The city of San Fransokyo as well as some of the film’s other characters will also appear.

Film producer Ray Conli said that there’s an overlap between Kingdom Hearts and Big Hero 6. “The themes in Kingdom Hearts and Big Hero 6 match very well. For instance there’s friendship, really important to both stories, and then of course light over darkness,” he explained.

There’s no release date set for Kingdom Hearts III just yet. It is hoped that it will be released next year.
