Average Irish person checks their phone 40 times a day
That’s the average, which means there are some who do it more often. The survey found that one in ten check their phone every ten minutes.
The survey was conducted by Ignite Research on behalf of new phone network iD, which will launch this year. 1,000 people were surveyed.
It found that more than 50% of people use their phones in public toilets, while one in three 18 to 24 year olds has used their phone in mass.
Just 15% of Irish people admitted to having lost or had their phone stolen in the past two years. And we’re apparently a nation of people who don’t believe it’ll ever happen to us. Just 9% of Irish people have purchased phone insurance.
iD will launch later this year, and is powered by Dixons Carphone.
