VIDEO See new Rise of the Tomb Raider gameplay
And all evidence is suggesting the new game will be another massive classic - just check out this new footage straight from Gamescom 2015.
It really kicks off in high action mode, showing off the scale and detail of the graphics and also the very much mature tone which we've come to expect from the series. After that we get a taste of something which we didn't see much of in the 2011 version - actual Tomb Raiding. This is an element which developers Crystal Dynamics were keen to address in the sequel, setting up unique challenges from the player which are quite distinct from the running and gunning of the rest of the game.
You'll get to do some proper investigation, fitting for a character who is trying to trace the path of her father through ancient tombs. It's the change in pace which is most welcome - as much as the combat in Tomb Raider was a lot of fun it sometimes felt a bit repetitive across an entire game. And Lara still gets plenty beat up on her crawl through the tomb, as well as encountering some enemies as her investigation progresses.
It's all looking rather great.
