VIDEOS: Deadpool Red Band trailer is here - NSFW fun
Just to prove that it’s going to have the f-bombs and ballistics, a red band trailer has been released. This is Not Safe for Work due to language, violence and nudity. So all the good stuff basically.
There’s Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson - a former soldier with terminal cancer who undergoes a mysterious experiment which grants him insane healing capabilities and messes up his face but good.
It also... breaks his brain a little bit and turns him into the utterly deranged Deadpool - a dude who likes killing people quite a bit.
There’s a lot of great stuff here, including Reynold’s poking fun at his own previous superhero heritage with a direct reference to the failure of Green Lantern.
You can expect more of those in the full film as well as a good deal more blood spray, this trailer is actually pretty light on the claret. The green band version also has some extra bits and pieces, including some fun stuff right at the end.
The red band version is said to be mostly identical to what was shown off at Comic-Con, minus a Stan Lee cameo which went down really well but you might be better off waiting til the full release for it.
Based on what we see here, it’s hard to imagine Deadpool being anything less than awesome - especially in contrast to the increasingly serious comic book films which are coming out in 2016.
Even if the story doesnt make any sense you’ve got a charasmatic lead who was born to play the role and a great excuse to really go to town with that R-rating. We’re still really surprised it was allowed to pass.
The film also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, TJ Miller and Gina Carano and directed by Tim Miller.
