In Irish cinemas August 7th

The superhero movies just keep on coming, and there's more from Marvel this week.

This time its from the Fox stable, which houses those X-Men and this time will be bringing back the Fantastic Four. There's a whole new team, including Miles Teller and Michael B Jordan, facing off against the might of Dr Doom! You'll also find intense dramas, horror and heroic dogs - so there's something for everyone this week!

Fantastic Four A team of young scientists discover a way to teleport to another universe, but they don't come back the same. Miles Teller, Michael B Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell are the Fantastic Four, with Toby Kebbell's Dr Doom as the antagonist. This comes from Chronicle director Josh Trank and looks like an edgier take on the material.

The Diary of a Teenage Girl A teenager writes about her affair with her mother's boyfriend in this American drama starring Alexander Skarsgard and Kristen Wiig. She's better known for her comedy roles in the likes of Bridesmaids and gets to stretch her talents here, while also bringing plenty of laughs.

The Gift If you're looking for some creeps, look no further. A perfect family gets a strange visitor from their past, and things get a good deal worse from there. There's a great cast including Jason Bateman, Rebecca Hall and Aussie Joel Edgerton - who also wrote and directed this chiller. And its from the studio which made Paranormal Activity, Insidious and more.

Manglehorn The latest from director David Gordon Green - who alternates indie dramas with the likes of Your Highness - is said to be a real return to form for acclaimed actor Al Pacino. He stars as an isolated fellow living in Texas with his cat who begins to form an odd relationship with Holly Hunter. There's definitely quirkiness on the cards here.

MaxThis is a movie about a cute dog who survives in a war zone and has to help heal and be healed by his relationship with a young boy. It actually looks like a pretty heart-breaking and heart-warming little flick and did susprisingly good business at the US box office. Expect more dog movies on the way which is never a bad thing. Random fact - Boaz Yakin also directed Jason Statham actioner Safe!
