VIDEO: Lexus will show off its hoverboard next week

Lexus released a new video for its hoverboard, showing it in action and revealing that it will be revealed in full on August 5th.

The video shows the board floating above a bed of liquid nitrogen smoke. This is used to keep the board’s superconductors and magnets cold enough to create the levitation.

Professional skateboarder Ross McGouran appears in the latest video. Many will be hoping that he will be on hand to put the Lexus Hoverboard through its paces.

2015 is the year that Marty and Doc travel to in Back to the Future 2, so it’s fitting that we may actually get our hands on hoverboards this year. Now we just need self-tying laces, self-drying jackets, or some of the other stand-out clothing items from the film.
