VIDEO: Fallout Shelter hits Android on August 13

Fallout developers Bethesda had a lot of great surprises at E3 2015 but one of the biggest was Fallout Shelter, a mobile game which they announced at the event and released moments later. At least on iOS.

It's set in the familiar post-apocalyptic setting of the Fallout universe but gives you a very different perspective as the keeper of one of the many Vaults under the surface of radiation-ravaged USA. Manage the inhabitants, keep them safe and fed and sometimes throw them out into the Wasteland to get supplies or just because you don't like the look of their face.

The game launched on iOS in June and became one of the highest grossing apps on the platform. And now it's coming to Android. Finally!

The new version will have a couple of little extras but will mostly be the same game, and will continue to be available for free. Critical reviews suggested Fallout Shelter was a pretty basic game but there was some fun to be had, and it certainly seems like a lot of players got stuck into it pretty early on.

Fallout Shelter comes to Android on August 13, 2015.

Fallout 4 arrives in November 2015.
