VIDEO: This R2-D2-themed modded PlayStation 4 is a thing of beauty

This DIY mod has jumped to the top of our wishlist. It’s the R2-D2 Star Wars Themed PlayBook 4, a fully functional PlayStation 4 packed into a laptop case with a glorious Star Wars theme.

Not only does it look the part, but it features a selection of R2-D2 blips and bloops to accompany your gaming session, and a red/blue light on the front that changes randomly.

The mod comes courtesy of Ed Zarick and members of the Astromech community. He says he built the system just for the challenge.

You can check out the video below for an overview of the system. The PlayStation 4 has been dismantled and reassembled to fit this case, while the parts for the case were carefully 3D-printed.

Unfortunately, we can’t buy this particular mod. But Zarick takes commissions, so if you have a weird and wacky idea for your gaming system, you can drop him a line with the challenge and see your creation brought to life.
