VIDEO: See the effects work which goes into a Daredevil fight scene

After Marvel launched their first TV series - Agents of SHIELD - to middling success and reviews there was no reason to expect much from their latest small screen outing. Which might be partly why Daredevil is so brilliant.

The Netflix show was the perfect way to draw out a comic-book story, serialised and with a dark sense of style we've rarely seen in any of the Marvel properties to date. With a great cast and plenty of places to go in the future, it's well worth checking out.

And it's also got a surprising amount of bone-crunching violence, and while some of it is entirely real, there's a good use of subtle special effects as well. Shade VFX were responsible for some of them and they've created a breakdown of a fight between Charlie Cox's Daredevil and a ninja warrior from the show.

A great fight and another formative moment for Matt Murdoch/Daredevil - who gets the crap beaten out of him a lot in the 13 episode series. Thankfully we're going to be seeing a lot more of Daredevil as the series is set to continue in 2016, with most of the main cast returning and some new faces like Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Before that there's a new Netflix/Marvel show called Jessica Jones set to debut before the end of 2015.
