Cortana for Android leaked ahead of official release

The Android version of Cortana, Microsoft’s digital assistant, appeared online over the weekend. The software wasn’t supposed to be released until July 29th when Windows 10 is launched.

Cortana for Android, according to some who have installed and tested it, is similar to the digital assistant found on Windows Phone handsets. Unlike on Windows Phone, Android users have to activate the app if they wish to use Cortana.

They can then get alerts and information about weather, traffic, places to eat and reminders about forthcoming appointments.
