Street Fighter V adds brand new character

Up to now, Street Fighter V’s character announcement s have been familiar faces, but Capcom unleashed Necalli at Evo.

Street Fighter V adds brand new character

Necalli resembles some sort of hybrid between Oni, Evil Ruy, and Asura from Capcom’s Asura’s Wrath. He uses a "wild, animalistic" fighting style, as you can see from the gameplay trailer.

Capcom said, “Players who enjoy a straightforward, hard hitting character will feel right at home with Necalli, as he possesses a wide variety of savage, close range attacks, as well as a command grab, all with the goal of demolishing his foes.”

His V-Skill is called Culminated Power, which sees him creating an explosion by punching the ground. Moving the joystick controls how far it travels.

His V-Trigger is called Torrent of Power. He channels an energy that “completely changes his personality for a short period of time.” In this new state, his frame data changes, he gets a new Critical Art, he can use new combos, and he gets a wild new hairstyle.

Capcom revealed that Street Fighter V will have 16 playable characters, including four completely new characters. The developer revealed that new characters will be added on a regular basis after launch. Players can then purchase, or earn by playing the game, the post-launch gameplay content that appeals to them.

Street Fighter V will be released in March 2016.
