The biggest surprise is that the Samsung Galaxy A won’t be running Android Wear, according to SamMobile. The report suggests that Samsung is instead opting to use Tizen, which will boost its new UX design for circular screens.

The Galaxy A will have a Super AMOLED display with 360 x 360 pixel resolution. No screen size has been revealed just yet.

The wearable will come with an Exynos 3472 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, along with 786MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It’s also expected to have a 250mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.1 technology and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support.

Samsung is also expected to cram GPS, an accelerometer and heart rate sensors into the Galaxy A. This will be Samsung’s first watch since the release of the Apple Watch, so that battle should be interesting to keep an eye on.
