VIDEO: Yager dropped as Dead Island 2 developer

Dead Island 2 publisher Deep Silver is parting ways with Yager and will hand the development reins over to someone else.

Deep Silver’s statement doesn’t explicitly say why the two are parting ways.

“With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve. After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner Yager," publisher Deep Silver said.

“We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage."

This is the latest bump in the road for Dead Island 2, which earlier this year saw its release pushed back to 2016.

It’s unclear if Deep Silver has another developer lined up to take over the project. The publisher is yet to announce who will be taking over the project now.

Whoever takes over the project will have their work cut out for them now that Dying Light is ticking all the boxes for players of zombie games.
