Developers The Astronauts have brought their gorgeous adventure game from the PC to the PS4 and it's looking very lovely indeed

PC players got the chance to experience The Vanishing of Ethan Carter when it first released exclusively on the platform back September 2014. The contemplatively paced first person adventure was praised for its story and utterly gorgeous visuals as we all waited patiently for a console release. Now it's here, and we've got the trailer to prove it.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is about what happens when a paranormal investigator by the name of Paul Prospero sets out to find a missing child called Ethan. Things start out weird and get stranger and stranger still as the story unspools in some of the most wonderfully crafted environments we've ever seen. The developers at The Astronauts have completely rebuilt the game for PS4 to take advantage of the differences between the mouse and DualShock control scheme and also to make sure things run as smooth as possible.

The new version has now been recreated in Unreal Engine 4 and PC players will get it as a free update in the coming weeks. This new tech will also allow the game to be ported to virtual reality platforms in the future.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter comes to PS4 on the 15th of July 2015, priced at €19.99.
