The feature will only be available in major markets like the US, UK, France and Germany at launch. However, Microsoft is “working on it,” according to Patrick Ward. However, he shared no details regarding when it might be released.

Cortana, he said, needs to be configured to understand local accents and dialects. If you urgently need to work with Cortana, you could change your settings to the UK version of Cortana. This recognises Northern Irish accents, but affects search results in terms of currency and location data, for example.

Windows 10 will launch on July 29th. Not everyone will get it on day one, but pre-registering for the upgrade will book a spot in the queue. You will then be notified when your upgrade is ready to download.
