Arkham Knight's Batgirl DLC set before Arkham Asylum

The first DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight, Batgirl: A Matter of Family, will take place before the events of Arkham Asylum.

In Batgirl: A Matter of Family, Barbara Gordon will team up with Robin to save Commissioner Gordon, who has been kidnapped by the Joker.

As with Arkham Knight, players will occasionally be able to take advantage of the Dual Play combat system to switch between characters and perform team-based takedown moves.

The report from Entertainment Weekly says that it will be quite a substantial piece of DLC with side quests, collectibles, and Easter Eggs to be found.

The action will take place in a new area called the Seagate Amusement Park. This is described as "a nautical theme park built on top of an oil rig that the Joker has rigged to be a massive death trap."

The add-on has been developed by WB Games Montreal (Batman: Arkham Origins) rather than Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady. Future content will be handled by Rocksteady.

Batgirl: A Matter of Family will be released on July 21st, though Season Pass holders can download it from July 14th.
