Facebook now has a Christian competitor!

If Facebook is too sinful a place for you, there is refuge to be found on Facegloria, a social network launched by a group of evangelical Christians in Brazil. Yes, this is a real thing!

Facebook now has a Christian competitor!

Facegloria is waging a crusade against the sinful material that you’ll find on other social networks. It’s governed by a strict set of rules that will strike down any content that is deemed inappropriate.

This ranges from colourful language – more than 600 words are on the banned list already – to sexual content and depictions of violence. Homosexuality is another topic that you won’t be able to post about.

Facegloria says that 100,000 people have signed up within its first month. It is targeting 10 million users within two years.

One thing that the site has going for it is that instead of liking posts, users say “amen.” But will it survive without the apparently controversial content that people know and love from other social networks? Some might think, “Hell, no.” And then get banned promptly. On the bright side; you won't be in fear when you see that you've been tagged in a post on a Sunday morning.
