Ultraviolent Doom trailer shows off mega bosses and the BFG

This Doom trailer is incredibly violent and packed with nostalgia; we get to see the shotgun, chaingun, and even the BFG, along with some familiar enemies.

The term BFG can conjour up different ideas. To some, it’s the lovable character from Roald Dahl’s book of the same name, while others think of Doom’s ultimate weapon. It’s the latter that gets showcased briefly in this Doom trailer.

The trailer shows off the fast-paced gameplay, plenty of shotgun-toting action, enemies exploding into teeny tiny pieces, and some of the big bosses that you’ll encounter along the way. There are also a range of melee finishers shown, including one for when players drop from a height.

It’s not for the faint of heart; there’s plenty of blood and gore here.

Doom was previously shown off at E3 this year. It seems to be shaping up nicely, implementing new mechanics alongside some classic features.

Doom will be released in spring 2016 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
