Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will be 'more emotional'

Director James Gunn is promising that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will be a “more emotional” movie.

He teased a few details about the upcoming sequel in an interview with Collider. “Well you know – it’s a more emotional movie, it’s both a bigger movie and a smaller movie, because we focus more intensely on some of the characters,” Gunn said.

It's not like the original was short of emotive moments like the opening scenes between a young Star Lord and his mother, and Groot's act of valor.

Gunn also revealed that the second movie will be about fathers, something that was hinted at during the conclusion of Guardians of the Galaxy.

After all, we need to learn about the other side of Peter Quill’s background. He got his love of music from his mother, so maybe the womanising and space-pirating came from his father.

Gunn also promised a sequel to Awesome Mix Vol 1, which is great news.
