VIDEO: New Hitman: Agent 47 trailer - crazy action with a bald genetically altered killer

The Hitman video game series is back on the big screen after a fitfully fun 2007 effort. And this time it's looking like more of the same, only with even more action and a lot of fairly silly CG.

Homeland's Rupert Friend is the one shaving his head this time. The part was originally set for Paul Walker before his untimely passing in late 2013, and despite the fact that seeing him bald might have been amusing we've certainly landed on a better actor.

Commercials director Aleksander Bach is at the helm for this one, and it looks like he's got the slick visuals down. Check out the new trailer where we get a lot more on the plot.

So the lady he's chasing has also been modified, and she might even be more powerful than 47. Does that mean Star Trek's Zachary Quinto is a baddie? And what's Irish fella Ciaran Hinds up to in this one - you can hear a voice cameo in the trailer.

If nothing else its nice to see that there is a bit of a story in play, though hopefully it doesn't take away from the frankly ridiculous-looking action. But if you're going to make an action movie in a world where Furious 7 exists, ridiculous is almost your only option.

Hitman: Agent 47 is set for release on the 28th of August 2015.
