Driveclub's free PS Plus edition rolls out today

Driveclub’s long-awaited PlayStation Plus edition will start rolling out to members today.

Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida wrote a blog post to announce the news. However, it was noted that the launch will be done in stages. This is to avoid a repeat of the issues that have affected the game to date.

"To make absolutely certain that all players have the smoothest and most stable experience possible we are going to be duly cautious about how we release the game this time around,” he wrote.

PlayStation Plus members will be able to download the game and start playing the offline mode. As time goes on, more and more players will be brought into the game’s online mode. Evolution and Worldwide Studios are hoping to avoid overloading the servers.

Driveclub launched in October, 2014 after its own share of delays. However, after being hit by severe server issues, the free PlayStation Plus edition was delayed. Those waiting on the free version will finally be able to experience Driveclub for themselves from today.
