Mayorships are back in Swarm
Foursquare is an app which used to let you check into places to get recommendations for things to do and generally be social. And also, if you checked into a place more than anyone else, you got to be major of that place and add a crown to your check in.
For some strange reason, Foursquare didn't include this functionality in their spin-off app Swarm but now its back. So you'll become the mayor a place if you've checked into it the most over the last 30 days. It makes a game of checking in and there's a real sense of pride in managing to be the mayor of a highly contested area like a cinema. Less so of your own house, but we'll take whatever we can get.
