The Division's companion app has been scrapped

When Tom Clancy’s The Division was showcased two years ago, it allowed players on a mobile device to interact with their friend’s game via the companion app. That app has since been canned.

The Division's companion app has been scrapped

A rep from developer Massive told IGN that the companion app feature “created an imbalance" that compromised the team-based competitive gameplay.

The companion app let players control a drone that could debuff the armour of an enemy, up the damage of teammates, heal an ally, spot enemies on the battlefield, or even launch an attack from space. It’s not all that surprising that it was found to be imbalanced.
