The lineup included the likes of Daigo, Justin Wong, Xian, Tokido, Ricki Ortiz, and Mago, among others. They were able to use the characters announced so far, including Ryu, Chun-Li, M. Bison, Nash, Cammy and Birdie.

YouTuber XusesGB uploaded the entire two-and-a-half hour tournament, so you can see how the best in the world play a brand new game. The footage features commentary from Mike Ross and Capcom’s Peter "ComboFiend" Rosas, who provide some insight into some of the game’s new features and mechanics.

The players are still getting used to the new mechanics, so some of them are a little underutilised. But it’s interesting to see the game in the right hands at this stage.

Unfortunately, the tournament cuts to best-of-one games towards the end because of time constraints. The winner ultimately walked away with $1,000. And we won't spoil the results on you.

Street Fighter V will be released early in 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PC.
