Apple Watch 2 could be out next year

Just a couple of months after the Apple Watch’s online launch, and before it’s even available everywhere, there are reports that Apple will release its follow-up as early as next year.

Apple Watch 2 could be out next year

The Apple Watch 2 will apparently be more functional than what’s currently available. 9to5mac cites “multiple sources” who say that the Apple Watch 2 will feature a camera that will let wearers make FaceTime calls and will be able to do more without being connected to an iPhone.

The second generation Watch may be able to handle basic communication tasks independently from an iPhone.

Those who don’t like having to charge their Apple Watch every night are out of luck. The Apple Watch 2 looks likely to feature a similar battery.

The sources familiar with Apple’s plans say that the next-generation Apple Watch device will be released in 2016. However, they warned that Apple prototypes several variations of future hardware products before release, which means that the FaceTime camera model could be held back until a later generation.
