Catch a glimpse of Anna Paquin in promo for new cut of X-Men Days of Future Past

X-Men Days of Future Past was an epically enjoyable summer film and deservedly earns its place as the highest grossing X film to date. So more of it is never a bad thing.

That's why we're really looking forward to the release of The Rogue Cut, which offers up an expanded take on director Bryan Singer's vision. But this isn't just a couple of minutes of extra footage tacked on at the end, it's an entirely new version of the film which also reinstates the position of Rogue - the character played by Anna Paquin.

You see, she was originally supposed to be a major part of the plot - taking on some of the duties which later fell to Ellen Page's Kitty Pryde. When the film needed a trimming, Paquin was pretty much excised from the picture.

Thankfully, she's not gone for good. Her part has been reinstated for the Rogue Cut, with 17 minutes in total added to the running time of the film as well as numerous changes throughout. And you can catch a really quick glimpse here.

Hugh Jackman totally says 'Rogue'!

In addition, the Rogue Cut will feature 90 minutes of new special features and a new commentary with Bryan Singer and Editor John Ottman. There's a 9 part making of doc which sounds pretty neat too. Oh and you'll also get the theatrical version of the film for completists.

X-Men Days of Future Past Rogue Cut is coming to home video on July 13, 2015.
