Pitch Perfect 3 coming summer 2017 - Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson returning

All the bellas are coming back for Pitch Perfect 3 with the confirmation of returning players Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson

We already knew that Pitch Perfect 3 was in the works but we're also fully aware that it just wouldn't be a Pitch Perfect film without its major characters, so its great to hear that both Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will be back for more in 2017.

The Hollywood Reporter was first with the news, saying that Kendrick and Wilson had agreed to a deal which will put them back on screen as acapella girls in the threequel. There's a good chance that they won't be quite at the centre of attention this time, thanks to the arrival of a new character in the second film played by Hailee Steinfeld.

This would be a good time for Universal to use the reuturn of Kendrick and Wilson as a way to pass the torch onto a younger cast and it makes financial sense too because these established stars are going to see their wages loom as the years progress.

We also know that veteran writer Kay Cannon (who penned both previous films) is back and Elizabeth Banks will definitely be producing the film. We're going to go ahead and assume that means she'll also be back playing the catty part of Gail Abernathy-McKadden-Feinberger. Yes that's her actual name in the film. And after the financial success of the second film - $260 million gross and growing - it would be great to see climb into the directors chair again.

Pitch Perfect 3 has a US release date of July 21st 2017.
