Ubisoft at E3 2015 - Assassin's South Park Unicorns and Tom Clancy

E3 2015 is in full swing in Los Angeles, and last night it was time for all the heavy hitters to show off their wares.

Ubisoft at E3 2015 - Assassin's South Park Unicorns and Tom Clancy

With a massive gaming portfolio, they don’t come much bigger than Ubisoft and the company was out in force showing of its offerings for the year to come. And it was a typically bombastic turn from the company, with the expected franchises making a return and a huge number of titles referencing the late author Tom Clancy.

The show – again presented by comedienne Aisha Tyler - was a little light on surprises but there’s still plenty to look forward to from Ubisoft.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole Release: TBC

This was maybe the biggest surprise of the night – a full on sequel to The Stick of Truth. It’s mostly a surprise because the original game was beset by development woes poor sales. Still, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were on board for the reveal, which is being developed by Ubisoft San Francisco.

You’ll play as the New Kid again alongside your favourite characters – and this time they have superpowers. First trailer is here. It’s quite self-aware.

For Honor Release: TBC

For fighting fans, this look like quite the treat. For Honor is all about gritty melee combat (seriously there are no ranged attacks) with four fighters working together to take on hordes of enemies in multiplayer combat. But the real meat is when you face off against and enemy soldier, trading blows and hoping for a killing strike.

This kind of pure combat is rarely seen in games and the depth of the melee aspect, as well as three playable classes (Knight, Viking and Samurai) makes this look all kinds of interesting. And violent.

The Crew Wild Run Release: November 2015

It wasn’t all new titles, with some news on an expansion for open world racing game The Crew. Wild Run brings a host of new vehicles of a rather more extreme sport. This is the kind of stuff you might expect to find in a Fast and Furious film, which is bound to bring some extra fun to Ubisoft’s fairly underrated racer.

Trials Fusion: The Awesome Max Edition Release: July 14th 2015

Trials: Fusion is all about using the power of physics to traverse insane obstacle courses on your tricked out bike. But if that sounded too boring and normal, you’ll want to check out the Awesome Max Edition.

That’s because it includes the original game and all its DLC in one handy pack, as well as the ability to play with all new mounts. In this case, a fire-breathing unicorn which is being ridden by some kind of gun-toting cat thing. There are explosions!

Anno 2205 Release: November 2015

Real-time strategy fans rejoice, Anno is back. It’s set to arrive exclusively on PC and will bring players to a host of different lands in a bit of sci-fi premise.

The main thrust is to get humanity off Earth and to the moon, harvesting vital resources in order to keep your tiny folk living and breathing. There’s future technology, city building and – we imagine – a lot of resources to manage. Here’s what the game definitely won’t look like when it arrives in November 2015.

Just Dance 2016 Release: October 23rd 2015

In another not at all surprising turn of events, there’s also a new Just Dance. And it’s going to have OH SO MANY songs in it!

The game will also work without a camera connected to your console for the first time, somehow doing all the magical stuff using just your smartphone. Will it be killing batteries if the camera is on all the time?

You’ll also be able to get Just Dance Unlimited – pay a monthly fee to get new songs unlocked regularly.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Release: October 2015

It’s time to take on the terrorists again with the latest in the long-running series. It looks amazing thanks to the Assassin’s Creed Anvil game engine and stars the very intimidating Angela Bassett as the leader of your elite counter-terrorism unit.

Terrorist Hunt is back as well as regular PvP gameplay and the whole thing has been designed to work while you’re playing solo as well as with a team. It’s better with other humans though, obviously. And the Beta is coming in September 2015.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Release: Autumn 2015

Assassin’s Creed is back, and this time it’s in London!

We’ve already heard quite a few details on the latest in this massively successful franchise so Ubisoft brought the good instead with a proper gameplay walkthrough instead of some flashy CG stuff. We’re in London in 1868 and doing the stealthy thing in an accurately recreated Westminister.

It’s time to take back the city from the influences of the Templars, and that means some street fighting. Check out those crowds! The game is on tour throughout Europe this summer, if you want to get some hands on time. You’ll finally get to play as a female character in the main game too – with twin assassin’s available.

And if you were missing out on some gorgeous CG

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands Release: TBC

This was one of the few unknowns at the show for 2015, and Ubisoft was intent on keeping it that way throughout the reveal trailer.

It’s a really, really open world action title – by which we mean that Ubi claims there is absolutely no scripting in the whole game. You’ll find a mission and decide exactly how you want to play it, from stealth to full-on Michael Bay action movie.

It looks really big and detailed, with a huge variety in how you take on mission. And it’s another Tom Clancy joint, this time called Wildlands.

Stay tuned for more details on this game and everything from E3 2015.
