Google Glass 2.0 is back on the cards
Google’s Glass team is currently looking for an Advanced Technology Manufacturing Engineer, FATP. The FATP part, according to the job listing, stands for "final assembly, test and pack."
Those interested in the position need experience in launching consumer products and a strong manufacturing background. They must also be able to test goods for quality and reliability.
Google stopped selling the original Glass to consumers in January because of waning interest and privacy concerns. At the time, Google said that it was time for a "strategy reset."
Glass was always likely to make a comeback. But many thought that there would be more downtime.
Glass is now under the direction of Nest boss Tony Fadell. The team describes its mission as focusing on "smart eyewear and other related products," rather than just glasses. We may see how this pans out in the near future.
