Disney's Tangled is getting a TV series

While Frozen is a phenomenon in its own right, Disney isn’t forgetting about its other animated works. Tangled, the 2010 film based on Rapunzel, will be getting its very own TV series.

The series is set after the events of the 2010 film, but before the events of 2012’s short follow-up Tangled Ever After. That means that Rapunzel has to get to know her parents, get used to her royal duties, and continue her relationship with Flynn Rider. But then she decides to put all this on hold for new adventures.

Tangled’s TV series will see the return of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. It will also feature Pascal the chameleon, the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs, and everyone’s favourite horse warrior, Maximus.

A new character, Cassandra, will also join the series. She is described as a tough handmaiden who is Rapunzel’s best friend.

The Tangled TV series will air on the Disney Channel in 2017.
