More Arrested Development coming Summer 2016
The overall storyline was incredibly convoluted and kind of got in the way of a lot of the comedy. That said, it still has its moments and that amazing cast of talented folks, plus it was a bit of a hit, so it's not surprising that it could be making a return.
Now we have more news about when it might be back. Producer Brian Grazer has been chatting on a podcast about the plans for the show, suggesting that they could start shooting in the first couple of months of 2016, with the aim being to have 17 new episodes ready before the summer.
Grazer confirmed that he has been talking to creator Mitch Hurwitz about the return of the show and everyone involved is 'into it.' And while that may well be true, shooting the last season proved to be a scheduling nightmare around busy folks like Michael Cera and Jason Bateman, with some players having to be added in later using green screen.
That's not likely to be less of an issue this time around but they're going to make it work, and hopefully spend a little more time on ensuring things are actually... funny.
