League of Legends implements player reform system

Whenever a player is reported for abusive chat messages, the system will spring into action. It will review and evaluate chat logs before deciding on a course of action. If a complaint is found to be valid, players will receive a message telling them that they’ve been reported along with the relevant segment of the chat log. This will show them exactly why they’re being punished. Not only will the system handle complaints, but it will dole out bans too. The system can issue bans that last anywhere from two-weeks to more permanent blocks. The system, according to developer Riot Games, will be supervised initially for the first few thousand cases. It is rolling out in North America today.Should the trial be a success, the system will be deployed worldwide without supervision. This is the latest in a series of steps that the developer has taken to encourage its community to be less toxic. Riot Games also said that this same system will be used to reward well-behaved players.
