Huawei may be working on its own OS
Huwaei’s current devices run Android with a custom Emotion UI overlay. Kirin would give Huawei more flexibility and control. It has apparently been in development for the past three years.The Chinese smartphone manufacturer isn’t the only one willing to take Google on. Samsung is pushing Tizen, OnePlus released OxygenOS, and Cyanogen has said that it wants to build a version of Android that’s no longer reliant on Google.This is the latest move from Huawei in a bid to become less dependent on third-party partners. It is already producing its own Kirin chipsets.Huawei is also reportedly working on a new handset that will utilise this new OS. This handset could be unveiled in the fall, according to reports from China.
