Telltale will release a Walking Dead game this year – but not Season 3
Stauffer took to Twitter to break the bad news. He wrote, “To re-clarify, no, TWD S3 is *not* starting in 2015. But what I am seeing this week will be, and it is insanely cool. Stay close, news soon!”Naturally, fans were disappointed. But there may be a glimmer of hope. He responded to a tweet from one user stating “No Telltale Walking Dead in 2015” with “I didn't say that.... ;)”It isn’t overly surprising that Telltale isn’t planning to release Season 3 this year. However, there is the possibility that we’ll get a standalone episode, similar to the 400 Days episode that followed the conclusion of Season 1.Telltale Games isn’t short of projects at the moment. It is currently in the midst of producing episodes for both Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands. It announced Minecraft: Story Mode, as well as a new IP of its own.Further down the line, it will work on TV and video game "super shows" in partnership with Lionsgate, and will release at least one game series in 2017 in partnership with Marvel.
