Two-part Avengers Age of Ultron sequel will shoot back to back next year

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a big and complicated thing and you get some idea of how much work is invovled in these comments from Captain America himself Chris Evans, speaking to Esquire: "We start [Captain America: Civil War] in a couple weeks, and then that shoots until August or something like that. August or September. Then I've got some downtime and I can do with it as I please. I don't know if I want to take time off or go pursue another directing job or find a movie to act in or, you know, do whatever I'm creatively inclined to pursue or wait, relax, enjoy my life. And then we start the Infinity War, I think, some time in the third quarter. Fall or winter of 2016. That's going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back."So he's just done with interviews for Age of Ultron and then he's back in for Captain America 3 and a few months later will be shooting for almost a year for a film two-parter which won't be done until the middle of 2019. That's one heck of a committment, especially for an actor who has admitted to being interested in stepping behind the camera and away from the limelight. But its nothing compared to what filmmaking brother Joe and Anthony Russo will have to face. They first came on board the Marvel train with 2014's excellent The Winter Soldier and are gearing up to shoot Captain America: Civil War in a few short weeks. That commitment through production, post-production and press brings them up to at least June 2016 when they'll have to go straight back to work because they've taken on the task of bringing the Infinity War to the big screen, after Avengers director Joss Whedon left Marvel at the end of his contract. That's a few short months of prep, nine months of shooting and a job which won't see the finish line until the middle of 2019. It's a massively significant film as well, spread over two features and concerned with bringing all the Avengers back together - with a few new faces like Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man and more - and also putting this Thanos battle to bed once and for all. No pressure so. Avengers: Age of Ultron is in cinemas now. In Short: Avengers Infinity War Parts 1 and 2 will shoot for nine months starting in late 2016, according to Captain American himself
