Daredevil gets a second season coming in 2016

If you're a fan of streaming series it's a pretty good bet you've been watching Daredevil recently. The latest small screen Marvel output, it stars Charlie Cox as the blind lawyer from Hell's Kitchen who does some vigilante work on the side. And it's really rather good.So happily we're going to get more. Marvel and Netflix have just announced that a second season is already in the works, set to debut in 2016. That's a quick turnaround but one that's most welcome - especially as there are plenty of threads left dangling at the end of season one. The cast remains intact but there are some changes behind the camera, notably that showrunner Steven S. DeKnight will be moving onto pastures new.“While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season," DeKnight explains, "I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch. They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can't wait to see what they do with the show moving forward."Both Petrie and Ramirez worked on the first season of Daredevil and have plenty of TV credits to their name, as well as the backup of Drew Goddard who remains in an Executive Producer capacity alongside DeKnight.Daredevil season 2 will be back on screens in 2016 which raises some interesting questions. We're already ramping up to the release of the second Netflix/Marvel show AKA Jessica Jones later in 2015 and a Luke Cage series is set for next year. If they're all a success will we see multiple layered seasons as things progress, maybe even with characters crisscrossing their own storylines? And how will that work when the intended event series The Defenders arrives, with these heroes teaming up to battle the forces of evil in Hell's Kitchen? We won't have any answers for awhile but one thing is certain, there's a lot of good TV to enjoy between then and now.In Short: The new Daredevil TV show has only just aired but it has already been renewed for a second season due to arrive in 2016
