Cities: Skylines, the city building game from Colossal Order, passed one million copies sold since March 10th, according to publisher Paradox Interactive.

Load up Steam and there’s a good chance that at least one person on your friends list is playing Cities: Skylines. Publisher Paradox Interactive announced that the city building game has reached one million sales since being released on March 10th.Cities: Skylines is a case study in how to launch a game and treat customers. The game was put into the hands of YouTubers and Twitch streamers early to build anticipation, is playable offline, and is moddable. The last point has been particularly beneficial with a staggering 33,000 mods having been created to date and made available via the Steam Workshop.CEO of Paradox Interactive Fredrik Wester was blown away by the game’s success. He said, “We continue to be amazed at just how players have embraced Cities: Skylines. The game is still selling at a steady pace, which is remarkable for a game that has been on sale for well over a month. Once again, we want to thank everyone that has supported and continues to support this game.”Cities: Skylines is currently available on Steam for €27.99. The Deluxe edition is available for €36.99 and adds five in-game historical monuments.
