Activision teases Guitar Hero announcement

Activision is about to breathe new life into the Guitar Hero franchise. It released a teaser video today that promises that an announcement will be made tomorrow.

The video takes place in the backstage of a gig venue with everything taking place from a first person perspective. The guitarist psyches himself up, gets some words of encouragement from those hanging around, and heads for the stage. The trailer closes with the tagline, “It’s about to get real.”It will be interesting to see what Activision has planned for a new Guitar Hero game. The series went on hiatus after Warriors of Rock in 2010. But, like System of a Down, it looks like it’s the right time for a comeback.Once again, Guitar Hero and Rock Band titles will go head-to-head. Last month, Harmonix confirmed that it is working on Rock Band 4, which will be released sometime this year. We can only hope that this competition will result in better games for the players.
