The sequel to creepy hit Sinister from Irish director Ciaran Foy is getting ready to hit cinemas and the first footage is out

Sinister was a surprisingly effective little horror number released in 2012 starring Ethan Hawke as a writer who gets involved with a demonic presence. The ending was a big naff but otherwise it was a slick and well played shocker from Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill. Some success followed so both filmmakers are back for the sequel, though this time they're sticking to writing duties. That left the directors chair open for Irish helmer Ciaran Foy, best known for Citadel which finally saw a release in 2013. There was lots of promise in that Scotland-based chiller so we can't wait to see how he does on his first American picture. We've got a look at the plot below but first check out the debut footage from the film in a short teaser which still manages to be incredibly creepy.

In the aftermath of the shocking events in “Sinister,” a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life twins Robert and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Buhguul continues to spread with frightening intensity.Sinister 2 is set for release in August 2015.In Short:
