Up to two million Three customers were left without service yesterday after an electrical failure in one of the mobile network’s data centres.

Customers had been unable to make calls, send texts or use data yesterday. Some also said that they had issues using Three’s website. A spokeswoman explained that an electrical failure caused the data centre’s temperature to rise, which affected some systems. Normal service has now been resumed.Three says that any issues have been resolved as of 7am this morning. The mobile service provider issued a tweet to announce that it had sorted the issues with the service. Three also thanked customers for their patience and apologised for any inconvenience.It’s thought that former O2 customers were among the worst affected yesterday. Coincidentally, Three’s network also experienced an outage last June on the same day that it announced the purchase of O2’s Irish business. Thanks to the deal, Three is now the second biggest mobile provider in the country.In Short: Three announced this morning that it has resolved issues that resulted in millions of customers being unable to make calls, send texts, or use data.
