Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break delayed until 2016
The title was announced back in 2013 and was due to come out sometime this year. All went quiet in recent months, so it doesn’t come as a huge shock that it is being delayed.Creative director Sam Lake was tasked with announcing the delay, but he didn’t delve into the details as to why it’s being pushed back. All that he mentioned in his blog post was that the game needs more polish and fine tuning. This does mean that there should be a little more space in a quite competitive calendar. Remedy tried to put a positive angle on the news of the delay by suggesting that it extends “the strongest blockbuster line-up in Xbox history into next year.” That’s certainly one way to look at it.Quantum Break looks like an intriguing title. It tells the story of three characters who get the ability to manipulate time after a time travel experiment goes wrong. Gameplay blends cover-based shooting and the use of these time-manipulation powers. Chapters in the game will alternate between levels controlled by the player and live-action TV-style episodes. If only Remedy had the capability to manipulate time; we’d have Quantum Break in no time at all. Instead, Quantum Break has been pushed back from sometime this year to sometime next year.
