Microsoft`s Cortana is coming to Android and iOS
Cortana will arrive on PC on Windows 10, and it’s expected that the Android and iOS apps will arrive at the same time. Cortana is currently capable of providing basic digital assistant functionality on Windows Phones and Windows 10. But it seems that Microsoft has bigger things planned.Apparently, Microsoft wants to include technology from one of its artificial intelligence research projects, called Einstein. This technology, according to managing director of Microsoft Research and a member of the Einstein project, Eric Horvitz, will be able to read and understand e-mail. Horvitz says that this kind of technology will “play a central role in the next roll out of Cortana.” Horvitz also revealed that Microsoft is working towards a fall time frame for this next roll out. This is the latest move in CEO Satya Nadella’s strategy to bring Microsoft’s software and services to other platforms rather than forcing people to use Windows. Expect to hear more about Cortana’s arrival on Android and iOS in the coming weeks and months.
Microsoft's digital assistant Cortana will be making her way to Android and iOS devices as a standalone app later this year, according to a new report.
