Titanfall 2 may explore free map DLC
Respawn CEO Vince Zampella praised the way that Evolve is handling additional content, such as maps, which are free. He said, “I think having the maps like that in packs, it does split the community and it makes it harder for matchmaking, it's messy. Yeah. I don't know we won't do it again, I can't say that for sure, but the idea would be to do something different."He confirmed that the sequel is in development, but didn’t reveal too much. He said that the title didn’t have a name and confirmed that it will be multiplatform. Titanfall was an Xbox console exclusive, much to the surprise of some of those at Respawn. Zampella said that it was necessary, so that they could do the game. Titanfall 2, on the other hand, will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.This is the first time that Zampella has officially acknowledged the existence of a Titanfall sequel. It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that it will be multiplatform. But it should be interesting to see what approach Respawn takes with regards to DLC.
Titanfall 2 is officially in development, and Respawn is considering how it should approach DLC to keep players involved over time.
