Android Lollipop 5.1 rolling out today

Google has taken the wrapper off Android Lollipop 5.1 with updates rolling out to devices from today.

The official Android blog announced the news, listing a range of new features included in the update. Some Lollipop users would have liked to hear about Lollipop 5.1’s bug fixes, but that’s not the case. They’re not quite as glamorous as new features.Android Lollipop 5.1 will now support more than one SIM card on a device with multiple SIM slots. This will allow people to share phones with their family, for example.Security has been given a boost. The Android Blog explains that Device Protection will lock your lost or stolen device until you sign in with your Google account. It will stay locked even if someone resets the device to factory settings. The Device Protection feature will be available on most Android phones and tablets shipped with Android 5.1, as well as the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9.
