Did Capcom accidentally reveal Street Fighter V`s release window?
The release window was outed in a blog post meant to drum up interest in Street Fighter related merchandise that was available at PAX East at the weekend. However, it revealed far more than expected. The blog post stated, “Everyone is fired up for Street Fighter V coming to the PS4 and PC next Spring. Until then, you can sport the official SFV key art T-shirt, which features Ryu in a heroic pose, for $25.”The words “next spring” has since been removed, but it may be too late. Now, whether this is an employee assuming this will be the release window or it’s what Capcom is targeting is unclear. Naturally, Capcom will neither confirm nor deny when Street Fighter V will be released.Either way, Capcom has a Street Fighter V beta to organise and conduct before the game is released. Recent Street Fighter games have hit retail and digital stores in the summer. However, this causes some uncertainty for EVO, the largest fighting game tournament in the world. With former competitor Peter “Combofiend” Rosas now withinCapcom's ranks, the company may have realised that giving competitors more time with Street Fighter Vis a better showcase of the game.
